From The President – Ira Keltz

Happy Summer Everyone!

First, I would like to officially announce that Temple B’nai Israel has been named the ‘Best Place of Worship’ in the Best of the Lakes Region Contest on July 7th. This is our 2nd year in a row with this award and it speaks volumes about what our mighty little temple means to our community at large. Thank you all for voting for us online!

Next, I hope that you are all enjoying the beautiful NH Summer weather and are able to get out and take part in the many different activities like biking, hiking, concerts, beaches, boating, and more that our region offers us each year.

I would like to acknowledge the Herculean efforts of our Fundraising Committee as we have pulled off a very successful NH Virtual Jewish Food Festival. Pickups are scheduled for the end of July and first day of August. This event will go a long way to ensuring our budget is on track for FY22. Volunteers have spent 100s of hours cooking and baking to make this event so well received in the Lakes Region. Mazel Tov to everyone who has been involved!

As you all know, the Jewish High Holidays are starting early this year – Erev Rosh Hashanah is on Monday, September 6th, on Labor Day, so preparations are in high gear for getting us all back into the sanctuary while balancing the safety of our membership and guests. I do hope that you’ll be able to join us in person to celebrate the light at the end of the tunnel of our pandemic nightmare. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with our friends, family, and Jewish Community as we celebrate another Jewish New Year. Click Here for the High Holiday Schedule

In closing, I encourage all of you to take a moment and appreciate how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country, to be surrounded by friends and family, and how a small Jewish Community can make such an impact in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

Shalom,
Ira
