RABBI DAN’S MESSAGE:

Chevre, (Dear Friends),

Todah Rabah (thank you) to you all for a wonderful instillation weekend. From the glittering Shabbat dinner, to the moving Dor L’Dor torah passing, to Rabbi Dena Feingold’s wonderful sermon on the possibilities for excellence in small congregation life, to our many guests from the Lakes Region religious community, to the beautiful oneg, it was very moving Shabbat. A personal thanks to Naomi Goldman and the holiday committee for the beautiful dinner and to the board for a lovely Oneg Shabbat. Thanks too, to Ira Keltz for his hard work in preparing for the event. Lastly, thanks to everyone at TBI for the very warm welcome you extended to Rabbi Feingold and her husband Brad, and to my wife, Julie, and my mother-in-law, Rochelle.

Because of an early Winter school break our TBI Hanukkah celebrations start early and will be celebrated this coming Shabbat and Motzi Shabbat (Saturday evening). Friday evening will be our Latke Bake Off, a menorah lighting, and family service,

with our religious school students helping to conduct our worship. As well, our Israeli shelicah, Avia Sagron, will be joining us.

Our Hanukkah celebration continues Saturday evening with an evening organized by our very busy Holiday Committee, featuring a deli dinner, Israeli dancing, and good company. Again, bring your menorahs for a shared, early candle lighting.

Lastly, but hardly least, on Shabbat morning we’ll be getting together for Torah study, at 10 am. It’ll be a relaxed gathering over coffee, tea, and danish. Our portion is Vayishlach, which is filled with the dramatic stories and challenges of the Jacob and family saga.
