In a heartwarming display of community spirit, We Care’s 11th-year of “providing a helping hand to Lakes Region non-profits reached new heights on Saturday, May 25th, with a sold-out benefit concert at the Interlakes Community Auditorium.  “We are overwhelmed by the incredible support from the community,” said Amy Norton Executive Director of The Lakes Region Food Pantry.  “This event will help us to continue to provide nourishment to the food insecure in our community.”

Renowned musician David Clarke was joined by the masterful saxophonist Lenny LaPinta and together they performed a captivating tribute to the music and legacy of Billy Joel.  The performance not only featured beloved hits but also delved into some of Clarke’s personal favorites, offering a well-rounded experience for fans.  The emotional peak of the evening arrived with a powerful rendition of “Goodnight Saigon.”  This poignant ballad, capturing the raw emotions of Vietnam War veterans, resonated deeply with the audience, particularly those who served, making it a fitting tribute on Memorial Day weekend as the veterans in the audience stood to be recognized and applauded.  The evening ended with Clarke and LaPinta performing the iconic “Piano Man” with the audience singing along and rising in a standing ovation.
