Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance in Laconia

There are two showings of the film “Lost Boundaries” – one before and one after the celebration at the Colonial.  “Lost Boundaries” is a film about an African American doctor from Keene, NH who passed for many years as white, until his race was discovered when he went to serve in World War II, and he lost his access to the local hospital as well as was stigmatized in Keene.  Dr. Larry Benaquist helped produce this film, and will be speaking at the Colonial event about the film and its aftermath. The city of Keene has publicly apologized to Dr. Johnson’s family and Larry has a clip of the event which he will show at the Colonial.
