Rabbi Jan Katz and Cantorial Soloist Melody Funk led their first official Shabbat together at TBI with the familiar tunes and prayers that the congregation has come to know.  A festive Oneg Shabbat followed the traditional service that allowed the members and the new Rabbi to engage and get to know one another.  There was an energy in the room that made it clear we are happy to have her as our new rabbi.  People lingered for a long time at the Oneg which is not only a testament to the friendships we feel for one another but also speaks to the great food that was prepared.
