Our Bubbie (grandmother in Yiddish) will take you behind the scenes in the TBI kitchen.  We are proud of the heritage that has been handed down from generation to generation.  “Bubbie’s Kitchen Adventures”  is our way of sharing this cultural heritage with you.  Please read and enjoy the stories from our Bubbie!

A blue image of an animal with its head down. When my family came from Eastern Europe to New York City in the early 1900s, they brought their traditional recipes with them.  When I was a little girl I learned how to make these foods from my Bubbie.  I have shared them with my TBI friends and they have become the foundation of The New Hampshire Jewish Food Festival.

When we gather in the small temple kitchen we work hard.  We chop, we grate, we roll, and we fry, always paying careful attention to the process to be sure each recipe is carefully followed.  We also kibbitz (chat), schmooze (stories and gossip), and laugh.  Before we know it there are 800 potato latkes fried and frozen, 1200 blintzes in the freezer, 50 lbs of brisket with gravy ready for slicing and packing, or there are 60 strudels rolled up and ready to wrap.   We love what we are doing because we know you love the food.  So here are the stories of how we get it done…
